TERRACOTA

The history and organic nature of terracotta is what attracts me to work with this medium. As one of the oldest materials for pottery and sculpture, terracotta has been used by cultures around the world in many different ways throughout history. Found readily in nature, terracotta offered a noble material that was accessible to all. I find inspiration in crafting my terracotta figures, as they emit an earthy and spectacular vibe reflecting their origins in the land. My sculptures combine playful forms and collections with complementary elements like metal or natural materials found in the surroundings. Working with terracotta brings me pleasure through blending this organic clay medium with additional textural details that enhance its appeals.
