GESSO IMPALMATO

Gesso impalmato is an Italian technique used historically to create masks in Venice. It involves building up layers of plaster, fabric, resins, glues, paper and marble powders on a sculpture. Materials are added in successive layers to accentuate details.
I'm always happy to explain artistic processes.

While these examples provide a small portfolio selection, please let me know if you'd like to see more of my works or discuss a commission.
